Welcome to Nyumbani African Delicacies. By placing an order via our website, email, or phone, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms ensure we can provide the highest quality service and food safety for your event.
1. Booking & Orders
Lead Times:
Nyumbani Express (Samosas/Snacks): A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for all snack orders.
Catering Events: We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance to secure your date. Large events may require longer lead times.
Minimum Order: For delivery, there is a minimum order requirement of 2 Dozen Samosas (or $60 value). Smaller orders are available for pickup only.
2. Payments & Deposits
Securing Your Date: A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to confirm any catering booking. Your date is not reserved until this deposit is received.
Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 48 hours prior to the event date.
Methods: We accept payments via Credit Card (processed securely via Square), E-transfer, or corporate cheques.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to cover the costs of ingredients and staffing already allocated to your order.
7+ Days Notice: Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event are eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
48 Hours – 7 Days: Cancellations within this window may forfeit the deposit but will not be charged the final balance.
Less than 48 Hours: Orders cancelled within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable, as fresh ingredients have likely already been purchased and prepped.
4. Food Safety & Consumption
Consumption Time: Our food is prepared fresh. We recommend that hot food be consumed within 3 hours of delivery to ensure food safety standards (Manitoba Health Guidelines).
Liability: Nyumbani African Delicacies is not liable for food quality or safety if items are kept at room temperature for extended periods beyond the recommended consumption window or improperly reheated by the client.
5. Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
Disclosure: The client must inform us of any severe allergies (Nuts, Dairy, Gluten, etc.) in writing at the time of booking.
Cross-Contamination: While we offer strict Vegan and Gluten-Free menu options, our kitchen handles nuts, flour, and dairy. While we take every precaution to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment for severe sensitivities.
Halal: All our meat dishes are prepared using Halal-certified ingredients.
